Anyone who knows anything knows that vintage Norman Hilton is not something you pass up. 3/2 sack, heavy-duty weave, great color, and it fits like a glove. Winner, winner, chicken dinner, right?
Upon further inspection, we’ve got a problem – the right elbow has worn through:
No way I’m going to let something like that deter me. I found these suede patches for $11 shipped, and had my tailor sew them on.
…and after a cleaning, here we are:
I couldn’t be happier. This is a great jacket with tons of life left, and the cut is exactly what I want – trim, but still a sack jacket, high armholes, and soft shoulders. All for about $20.
