Atlanta’s Billy Reid Made To Measure Event

You saw me mention the Billy Reid Made to Measure event at their Atlanta location last week, and it didn’t disappoint.  While I’m a big proponent that every man should own at least one great (not good, but great) suit, I was very curious to see how the process played out.  I didn’t pull the trigger this time, as I needed to wade in through the shallow end rather than cannonball into the deep end.

My first impression was how professional the process was – the measurer (Brandon) shared a beer with the customer (Tim) prior to opening any fabric book.  He really took the time to get to know the gentleman so that he could be fitted with a personal style that will make the most sense for such an important purchase.  Most of the customers that shop at Billy Reid are already familiar with his brand, so Tim knew what he was getting into.

The next step is to determine the purpose of the suit.  In this case, it was utility rather than for a special event.  Tim was looking for a suit that he would be able to wear in any number of settings – from work, to a wedding, or to a party.  Brandon precisely took his measurements, and that was that.  Tim came in on Friday evening to pick up his suit and do the final measurements (waist and hems on the pants, and waist and sleeves on the jacket).  I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story:
