They’re Back: Resoled Chacos

A while back I wrote about my Chacos, and how the sole was starting to peel away from the shoe.  As I mentioned, I fish in these, and was really anxious to get them back, as we are getting into prime time Summer fishing season…there’s nothing like early morning or dusk topwater action…NOTHING.

Anyway, I filled out the form and mailed the Chacos back…

Literally eleven days later, they were on my doorstep:

Completely resoled.  They look GREAT, and the service was super fast.  What’s better?  These were considered a warranty fix, so the resole didn’t cost me a dime!  By no means does this happen every time, but I was super pumped.

Honestly, I love it when companies work like this.  There is something about the customer service perspective that makes successful companies GREAT.  Like Chick-Fil-A, American Express, and Russell Moccasin – they all want to do what’s right by the customer, no matter the cost.  Chacos doesn’t appear to be counting sandals sold, but rather how many relationships they build.

I can say that my relationship with Chacos has elevated from a transaction to a CUSTOMER.  Good work, Chacos.

I noticed last weekend that the bottoms of mine (which I purchased two years ago) are starting to fall off. Glad to hear they exhibited such great customer service! I wish they still made them with the Vibram soles though.

Unbelievable customer service! Had an issue with a pair a few years ago when the ankle strap broke off. Ended up being a factory issue with that model and didn’t cost me a dime to have them fixed. The Vibram soles are where its at

Love the site. Thanks for sharing your story about Chacos. I have had a pair of Chacos for a long time, close to 20 years. Got them when first came out during my whitewater days. Mine are so old Rubber is cracking on the edges but with those Vibrm soles I think they are just now getting broken in. I have had Alps and Tevas and Teva sandals even before Teva bought out the Alps company. Loved my original Alps but a new lab puppy loved them more and chewed one up so bought the Chacos. Best sandals ever and call them essential river running gear. First time I ever used mine was on kayaking trip to the Gauley. Back then if you were a kayaker you were not allowed to drive down to the commerical takeout where the raft companies used and the other takeout was a pain. So after a long day of paddling and playing you had hump your gear wet, tired and water logged gear out of the gorge where cars were parked in a field some farmer would charge $5 to park. If my Chacos could talk…
