Look: Summer Date Night

While (generally speaking) we’ve moved to a more casual environment, it’s hard for me to slack when it comes to dates with Mrs. RCS.  We don’t get too many, so when we do we both like to take it to the nines.  Given that it’s summer, and feels like the surface of the sun, it’s important to wear breathable fabrics.  There are plenty of options that allow you to look and feel great, even in these hot months.

Here’s how I like to do it:

From top left:

1. Peter Millar Hadley Oxford Sport Shirt:  You can never have too many white oxford shirts.  They work with everything and dress up any look.  Ensure that you have a good selection of collars (point, button-down, etc.).
2. Persol 649 Sunglasses:  They’ve been cool forever, and will forever be cool.  A great investment as a dressier pair of sunglasses.
3. Onward Reserve Thomasville Travel Jacket:  A linen jacket is a must-have in the summer months, and it looks cooler after it gets some wear.  Everybody gets it: it’s hot outside, so wear fabrics that work.
4. Rolex Champagne Datejust:  Yep.  Champagne.
5. Raleigh Denim Chambray Trousers:  Chambray trousers don’t get enough work…and Raleigh always releases a few super cool pants options every year.  These are those.
6. Martin Dingman Bill Safari Kudu Belt:  An exotic belt is a really great way to add some interest.
7. Cotton Bandana:  Not a pocket square, but something for your back pocket or inside jacket pocket.  Sweat is real.
8. Alden Milkshake Penny Loafers:  The most seasonally appropriate Aldens that they make.  I’ve got the tassel loafer version of these, and these pennies are next.

How do you do it during these hot months?

Don’t forget to add some Clubman body powder for those hot, humid summer nights!

Good get up. I am sick and tired of how men’s style has moved so casual. Men please remember that casual does not equal sloppy.

We ARE the Sun over here in Texas. So, I’d ditch the shirt and pants choices for much lighter, more breathable fabrics. How about a light gray and white striped seersucker jacket (quarter-lined and lightly canvassed), a pink linen BD shirt, and white poplin pants? Your milkshakes would still work perfectly.
