I’ve always liked the old Jeep Wagoneers. I had a buddy in high school who inherited one from his folks, which we subsequently named ‘The Tank’.
The Wagoneers don’t have the rough and tumble feel of the old Range Rovers, Land Cruisers, or Scouts. They are still rugged, but in a country club sort of way…it’s the wood trim that gives it away. Still though – they can handle 99% of the off-road action any of us can throw at it. Plus, they look good. Really good. White wall tires good. I did a profile on them via Grand Wagoneer a while back.

I had a 1991 “Final Edition” up until several years ago. What a regret that was to sell.
I worked in Yellowstone in 97′ and was given the keys to one of these in mint condition for the summer to usher guests around. Best job ever.
