My man LAS at Sartorially Inclined is leading the charge on double monks – specifically with Allen Edmonds since they discontinued production on the Mora. There are quite a few other options for double monks (we’ll get to that shortly), but were probably the best option for the value conscious shopper.
Sid knows.
The double monk isn’t seen that often, but they make quite a statement, and look outstanding – from sockless with jeans to a nicest suit in your closet. I have been on the hunt for quite a while. Luckily I was presented with the opportunity to purchase a pair of Moras, and I pulled the trigger.
There are other options out there for double monks:
1. Sid Mashburn
3. Ralph Lauren Alston (try Gilt)
Next: a pair in black, and a pair in suede. Maybe the Mora? Will Allen Edmonds do it?
Best shoes ever. Period. Game over. And the Moras…a stellar iteration. Copped a pair in the elusive burgundy this summer. A.E. needs to bring them back.
Some of them look great – others not so much. I'd love to get my hands on Sid's via Taigan, but wow, that would be an investment.
Shouldn't have let me know you also take the size 9.5… now if your pad gets broken into and your Moras go missing, just know it was because of this post, and it was me. Hahaha.

Dang, those look beautiful. I've got Moras in black and chocolate suede. My only complaint is that the black ones are really squeaky. I think I need to condition the leather or something.
The brown leather is definitely the most versatile though. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I'm especially inclined to cop a pair of Moras when they're available again as I'm a Wisconsinite.
The A&E Mora is IMO the best of the lot. Not sure I agree with jeans but certainly with a great pinstripe suit they look awesome.
I hope their product development department is taking the requests seriously, they should really make the Mora a permanent addition.
