Have fun with that camera. I've had a Nikon since 2007 and it's been lots of fun. Get creative!
Within the width/distance limits of your lens, that setup is all you need for pro level photography. Just don't shoot at the highest ISOs where possible, and get a good tripod (hint: go ahead and spend the $$$ on the "good stuff needs no upgrade" principal)

How do you like the Tamron lens? Do you have the VC version or the older one? If you don't mind me asking, what model did your wife get? I'm upgrading an old XTi and having a hard time choosing between the 60D and 7D.
