Being that I’ve been a sport coat guy for a long time, my collection has gotten pretty big. Over the last dozen years (or so) a significant portion of my closet is filled with beauties that have great memories but may not get as much wear as they used to. I’m set for a big sport coat purge – be on the lookout if you are a 40-41R.
My current inventory in no way prohibits me from adding some juice here and there. And I’m always on the lookout. I recently added two more, just in time for Fall.
First is this Boglioli K Jacket from the recent sale at Miller Brothers in Buckhead. I’ve had my eye on this one since they posted about it over a year ago at the Chicago show. I love the cream background and the green, tan, and orange plaid. It it a fun Fall jacket that will look good with jeans, trousers, or darker 5-pockets.
Second is another Boglioli, this one from a super Yoox sale. Believe it or not, I got this for $91. It’s a really nice deep emerald green wool jacket that fits like a glove. I had to have the sleeves brought up about 3/4″ on each jacket, but that’s it in terms of alterations.
Much more to come for the Fall. What are you eyeing as we head into the greatest season of the year?
where will you be selling your sport coats?
He usually lists them on the Red Clay Soul Instagram account. Basically you DM your bid and he’ll DM you back if he accepts your bid. At least that’s how it’s been done in the past.
I have a great local mens store that is my go-to, but Onward Reserve has had some really great sportcoat options over the past couple of seasons. My only issue with the OR sportcoats is that most come with working button holes, which makes sleeve altering a real pain. Will probably pick up the ghost blazer from Sid Mashburn as soon as they’re available again.
Always good a feeling after a closet purge. But I dig the patch pockets on the new jackets.
