Fall Vibes

I enjoy seeing all the new Fall goods being released.  It’s a barrage that is welcome, even though our highs are still in the 90s.  It’s a reminder that in a few short months, we’ll be waking up to cool, crisp mornings, warm afternoons, and early sunsets.

This is a small sample of the goods that are being offered from some of our favorite brands.  There’s more, and I’ll do my best to capture them in a digestible way.

Here we go:

From Top Left:

1. B.Draddy Hanse Quilted Cotton Mock Neck:  A great, elevated pullover that can be dressed up or down.  I’ve come to love these quilted patterns, and the mock neck provides interest.
2. Tom Beckbe Tucker Fleece Vest:  Beckbe has found their groove, adding quite a few more options vs. the waxed jackets and vests.  Their menswear category has a great feel to it, very usable IN the field, but great for wearing while you are thinking about being in the field.  You get it.
3. Garrett Leight Sunglasses:  Currently my favorite shades…and I found a hack.  Try searching on The RealReal for a MASSIVE discount vs. new.  It’s amazing.
4. Duck Head Oxford Shirt:  I love an Oxford, as do most of us, but Duck Head is offering three Fall-friendly options.  This one is ‘bronze’ and looks the part.
5. Turtleson Issac Rugby Polo:  A lighter version vs. the heavier Rugbys, and just right for the September and October evenings.
6. Holderness & Bourne Wilson Cotton 5-Pockets:  I got a few pairs of these, and can’t say enough good things about them.  I’ve gotten quite a few questions, so I’m going to do a specific review.
7. La Matera La Gran Reserva Polo Belt:  I dig the mixing of textures here.  La Matera is doing it right.
8. Vintage Rolex GMT Master II “Root Beer”:  Brown town.  My man John at Highland Diamond will help you track down exactly what you are after.
9. Pennbilt “American” Khakis:  The Fall-friendly 8.2 oz fabric is just right for this time of year.  I wear mine like jeans, washing them inside-out in cold water.  Then I turn them right-side out and dry on warm for ~5-7 minutes.  Hang dry, and touch up with a warm iron.
10. Rancourt York Weltline Roughman Loafers:  How about a pair of loafers with a crepe sole?  Just right for those wet mornings…
11. Mercer & Sons Orange Seersucker Shirt:  Seersucker isn’t just for summer, folks.  This custom option from Mercer features an orange and white stripe that works with the hues of the season.
12. Wallabees X J.Crew Leather Boots:  I’ve been looking to add a pair of the Beeswax Wallabees, but these leather options Clarks did with J.Crew have my attention…

What are you eyeing?

Some great stuff here. I’d like to encourage fellow RCSers… fall 2026… let’s bring back pleats!

RCS has said he’s against pleats. Maybe he will come around. I’ve pretty much just never stopped wearing them. If they are super baggy and puddle at the bottom you may look like that bad lawyer meme, but like most things, if it fits right they can look good.

I stopped wearing pleats and wool sweaters when I turned 14. Told my parents NO! Looked terrible. I’ll never make my kids wear them. If you want to wear them it doesn’t bother me.

Why do you feel the need to bring pleats back though? Just be comfortable being you. Rock them with pride.

We need to bring them back so that more brands sell them!
