Epaulet is a modern menswear brand built on thoughtful, approachable tailoring with a distinctly everyday sensibility. These are the kind of clothes that work just as well at a neighborhood dinner or casual office as they do on a weekend trip or a five-star reservation. They balance classic structure with clean proportions and exceptional fabrics, producing extremely limited tailored pieces that are meant to be worn, not archived in a closet.
I’ve accumulated a few pieces over the years, highlighted by their chore coats. At this point, I own four, and I genuinely love each one. I’ve gotten to know Eva through the years, and while I won’t spoil what’s ahead, let’s just say we’ve got a few things in the works.
One day, while sourcing fabrics, she texted me and mentioned she had come across an incredible blaze-orange Loro Piana wool. She sent a photo, and I knew immediately this one was special. Within minutes, we decided it had to become a chore coat.
Fortunately, I’m a standard Epaulet 42 (no alterations needed) so execution was simple. We decided to line the under-collar and cuffs with a beautiful camo fabric to give it a subtle outdoors, #Lodgewear feel. I’m very glad we did. A few weeks later, it arrived, and I’ll admit: I was giddy.
This coat is going to be a statement piece, no question. Mrs. RCS loves when I lean into something bold for date nights, and we’ve got a few fall events: oyster roasts, barn parties, the usual, where this will fit right in.
Enjoy:
