PMGN: Alabama Getaway

I love it when games like this line up. Arguably the two best teams in the country, a fantastic venue, and GameDay is going to be there!! (Yawn…)

This one has all the ingredients of a big-time college football game—and a huge letdown for one of these teams. These are the Saturdays we wait for all year. Clear the calendar, get the tailgate started early, and settle in. There’s no sneaking this one on the second TV. This is the main event, and it deserves your full attention.

For all the Bulldog fans heading over, I’d recommend wearing something comfortable, and bring a rain jacket.  We might see ALL the fans exit at the beginning of the fourth quarter. There’s nothing subtle about this rivalry, so there’s no reason to be subtle with the wardrobe, either.

Here’s how I’d do it:

From top left:

1. Criquet UGA Player’s Shirt:  The coolest cotton polo adorned with the red helmet.  A nice style vs. the field.  Wear it well.
2. Rolex GMT-Master:  Tell ‘em what time it is…
3. Old School Red UGA Hat: You likely have (or had) a few of these in the closet…this is a good weekend to bring it back out.  I loved these old Game hats back then, and I love them now.
4. Red Wing 1178 Boots:  I love a good pair of worn-in work boots.  I’ve had a pair of 1178s for ten years, and they are just getting good.  The comfort of these boots is unmatched, and the rubber non-slip sole is great for scaling stadium steps.
5. La Matera Mendoza Belt:  Style around the waistline.
6. Duck Head Field Canvas Pants:  The best all-around pants.  Cotton canvas, with just enough stretch for a long day in Alabama.  You’ll need it.
