It’s interesting how a lot of marketing campaigns are essentially re-do’s of what worked in the past. Sometimes WAY back. From a beer perspective, I love that Miller Lite brought back the old cans. In a world where microbrews are the ‘cool’ thing to drink, it’s great to see an iconic beer that we all used to steal from our Dad’s refrigerator back in the packaging that we remember.
One beer advertisement that makes perfect sense to come back is one that Bud Light did back in the 80s. It was brilliant. It was simple. It hit on all cylinders. The advertising touch of perfection was Spuds MacKenzie. The original party animal. He was the perfect beer advertisement. And I’d like to ask the fine folks at Bud Light to bring back Spuds and all his glory. Women would roll their eyes…guys would eat it up. We’re ready. Are you?
Don’t forget Alex from Stroh’s!
BTW, the dog they called “Spuds” and sold as a “he” actually was a she.
Absolutely. I’m continually scoping eBay for unique Spuds merch.
