Allow me to introduce you to Atlantic Drift – a new East Coast lifestyle clothing company based just outside of Charlotte, NC. Atlantic Drift is the product of Nathan and Thomas Propst, two brothers that live the lifestyle their brand represents. I’ve been talking with Nathan for the last few months and through the brand’s launch, and am very impressed with what they released. It’s a very focused coastal line – with a Marlin as their logo and beach-appropriate colors. While there are alternatives, they are offering some distinctive products that set them apart.
They were nice enough to send me some products to review (full disclosure) – a Blue Water Polo in ‘moss green’ and a Redfish needlepoint belt:
The polo is a great – it is a slim fit, but has some stretch. The green is excellent; not lime, but not Masters – right in the middle. Great for the golf course, bar, or office.
I was really happy to hear they were going to do a needlepoint belt. Talk about distinctive… Not to mention the Redfish design – perfect for the Atlantic Coast. From a quality perspective, I’d put it on par with any other needlepoint belt out there. The weave is very tight, and the design is specific. This will be available on their website very soon…
The Propst brothers did the ‘Who/What/When/Where/Why/How’ as well as sent some behind-the-scenes pictures of their new operation:
Who: Two brothers who have a desire to share the lifestyle they grew up on through a comfortable, well crafted clothing line. Thomas and Nathan Propst spend every free minute either on the water or in the woods, which lead to the decision to turn that passion into a brand. Their ambition was to provide apparel that is as rich and classic as the boat building history of North Carolina and offer nothing but the best in customer service.
What: Well made, classically designed clothing suitable for every occasion, whether that be in the office or on the water.
When: Atlantic Drift started developing about three years ago, then officially launched on December 17th, 2011.
Where: The brand inspiration came from the summers spent on the Atlantic Ocean and all over the east coast. They took that inspiration and formed their company right outside of Charlotte, NC.
How: Trial and error. The brothers put their products through the ringer until every detail passed inspection
Why: The need to build a brand that was directed to the sportsman lifestyle they know and love. To produce timeless products that feature a trophy fish every fisherman dreams of catching. To express the passion the Propst brothers have developed over the years. Last, but not least, to build relationships and create loyalty with customers.
Great Post RCS!
