New Camp Boots from Oak Street Bootmakers

Here’s some really good news: Oak Street Bootmakers is re-releasing an updated version of their famed Camp Boot. These have been off the market for a couple of years, only relying on second-hand sites and pure luck to find some (read: they don’t show up often because they are incredible). George and the team did some updating, adding an SVIG Cortina Cork Lugged Sole, which is extremely comfortable, but also much more functional for the outdoors, and dressier for the #lodgewear set.

Personally, I love these. There are a TON of applications: the office, church, traveling, the lodge, the dove field, etc. And since they are constructed with Chromexcel leather, they’ll clean up just right. Offered in brown and natural, there is a shade for everyone.

From OSBM: While American handsewn moccasins can be traced to the beginning of the Fur Trade in the 16th century, our Camp Boot was developed in 2010, referencing the boots worn by guides and sportsmen in upland Maine in the early 20th century. 13 years later, the pattern remains the same, but the construction has been improved with tighter tolerances resulting in even better water-resistance and improved comfort. The Camp Boot also now sits atop an Italian-made SVIG Cortina Cork Lugged Sole, which provides sportsmen with best-in-class comfort, traction, shock-resistance, and durability—in a classic shape and color that punctuate the Camp Boot’s century-old design sensibilities.

Price is $368 a pair, which is great considering the USA-made craftsmanship. For sizing: half-down for most, true-to-size for those with wide feet or who plan to wear them with thick winter socks.
