What is your thoughts on the new stuff. I have not tried any of their stuff out yet since the relaunch. Maybe a review is in order.

New stuff looks like a cash grab….
I haven’t felt them in person, but the prices are comical!

The reason Duck Heads became so popular was the quality and fair price of their khakis. Back in the day I could purchase 2-3 pairs for what this new ownership is charging. $135???

Did anyone notice that they’re no longer made in the US? When they rebooted a few years ago, with the high price point, they justified it by saying they were made in the US. Now, the website says that their staple, the khakis, along with their $90 swimsuits, are imported. What’s to justify the higher price now? How are these superior to Walmart khakis?

The price is insane for what you get. I have a pair of the new ones that a friend gave me after he bought them but didn’t wear them. The fit isn’t quite right (baggy seat slimming to the ankles – just strange), the fabric wrinkles almost immediately, and the stitching doesn’t feel very sturdy. I doubt that these pants would last long enough to break in. It’s a shame. Definitely not worth anywhere near $125.

Oh brother. I remember Duck Head from my prep school days. I got nostalgic a few years ago and discovered that the brand had been bought and sold several times since then and the current owners were making the pants once again in the US. $125 for US-made chinos is not outrageous IMHO. $125 for chinos made by a 10-year old in China who gets $2.00 per 12-hour day of hard labor is the definition of outrageous.
If I could find vintage Duck Heads in my size I wold buy them in a heartbeat – even at $100/pair. But I will not buy the current imported junk at any price.
