I’m seriously conflicted about this game. While I’m excited to see the Dawgs play, I’m not jazzed about the New Year’s Day slot in New Orleans. Not only that, there is the playoff ‘drag’, where bowl ticket demand is muted by the possibility of a game the next week…then maybe the next…so when and where do you invest?
NYE is a great excuse to head to New Orleans, but there’s a better-than-average possibility that there will be some serious regret the next morning. Therefore, prepare accordingly, and by ‘accordingly’, I mean electing to sell your tickets and catch the game at the hotel/local/etc. bar. The weather looks great, and the atmosphere will be fun, so dress the part:
From top left:
1. J. Press Red Butcher Stripe Dress Shirt: Be better than a tech polo.
2. Peter Millar Georgia Script Fleece Vest: At sixty degrees and sunny, this is the perfect layer for walking around New Orleans, pre-game or post-game.
3. Custom G Hat: You may not need it, but you want it—great looking ‘custom’ G hat from our friends at Etsy.
4. W. Kleinberg Red Woven O-Ring Belt: Add some elevated flare to the look. Red canvas + Croc tabs + O-ring = top shelf.
5. Wool Red/Charcoal Socks from Boardroom Socks: If you must wear socks, wear some good ones. Our friends in North Carolina put out some of the best, and they happen to be the best value out there.
6. Duck Head Field Canvas 5-pockets: The go-to pants… These look good all day long, and hold up to what New Orleans throws at it.
7. Loake Pebbled Chukka Boots: When you want to look nice, but need that rubber sole, chukka boots are the way to go.
UGA 37 Irish 31
Those Loake chukkas are good looking!
Rough day in NOLA today to say the least.
Predict a strong 1st half by UGA but Irish come back and win by 4.
I ended up getting some Boardroom Socks per your recommendation and think they’re good. My only complaint is that I feel like they’re still lacking some colors. A good kelly green and a bright orange are what I’m in the market for.
