How ’bout it? College Football is back, baby, and it couldn’t come soon enough. The Bulldogs were honored to be chosen to play in the Kickoff Game at the Benz vs. the Clemson Tigers, and what an honor that is…as the pre-season favorites to bring the National Championship trophy back to Athens.
But wait – the kickoff is at noon? Who does that? This isn’t the Big10 for God’s sake. This is real football. Considering I’ve reminded most of you headed down that you might want to get there just after brunch s0 as not to miss kickoff, dressing the part should be a pretty simple task. Get comfortable, so that you can get home, change, and head out to celebrate in a proper way.
Here’s what I recommend:
From top left:
1. Natty Tour Visor from Dick Ferguson’s: We’re still on the Tour Visor train…wear this one with pride. These fly like eagles should the refs do their damndest to keep the game close.
2. Peter Millar Black Standing Bulldog Polo: The one opportunity to wear a black polo is when pulling for the Dawgs…wear it well.
3. Miller Brothers x Smathers HBTD Needlepoint Belt: A cool belt for Dawg fans…non-cartoon-y and straight to the point.
4. Casio Red G-Shock: The new ‘Times on a nylon strap’ of a watch. I’ve been wearing one of these for a while, and they look great, and give off a general ‘it’s cooler than you think’ vibe. And the price is very digestible.
5. Duck Head 7″ Chinos (w/ the Gold Tag): We can all appreciate the old school Duck Head shorts. Get some…they are better than you remember.
6. Nike Windflo Running Shoes: Lots of walking downtown, especially when parking is as sh!tty as we’ve come to expect. Be comfortable.

As a Big 10 fan, I can assure you no one hates the noon kickoff more than we do.
this is correct! noon kicks are awful!
In Georgia is it considered an honor to play a regular season game there? Neutral site games are the worst 95% of the time
It’s a big time game and the majority of the (game-attending) fanbase lives in Atlanta anyway so it becomes more convenient than the, albeit short, drives to Athens or Clemson.
Pleasantly surprised to see how tough of a schedule UGA has this year. We will see you in the playoffs. #GoIrish
You’d better hope the Irish don’t see Kirby’s Hell Hounds in the playoff. #HBTD
Black polo is a great choice to make it harder to spot the fleas on the on the mangy mutt fans.
This basic formula is my go-to, except in the proper colors and location. Blue, orange, and the Swamp. 3:30 on Saturday, August 31st, will be extra swampy.
Try an 11 a.m. kickoff. That’s been the routine for Texas vs OU (still sucks) for quite a while. You’ve barely recovered from the previous night’s adventures and boom here’s the game. It’s always all about the TV$.
It’s about time Georgia plays the same schedule as Auburn or Alabama. Georgia has had good seasons but their schedule has always had 1 or 2 hard games a year. Welcome to life in the SEC.
Please reply with the year you graduated from UGA. Non response will be immediately met with a sidewalk fan comment.
Auburn 2004
Lol come on now this is the SEC you’re talking about…..
