I'm working my way up to a Range Rover. I have a LR Discovery now, 1997. LOVE IT! I;m going for either a slightly newer disco or a RR Classic. Either way – they look great with a Barbour coat. Not that a vehicle should be considered an accessory.

Be careful what you wish for. I have owned my "dream" range rover which turned ou to be a nightmare.
Yes they look great, but if you want it to do anything but look good in the driveway you better have infinite patience and a similarly infinite bank account.

Agreed. I've owned 2 different RR Classics, both 1995's and they were pretty, but troublesome. My current LR is a 2004 Discovery and it has been mostly trouble-free. Good luck with any RR…

I also had a '97 Discovery, and I loved it. Rock solid engine and drive train, the only thing I ever had to fix were the window regulators and a new serpentine belt. The only reason I sold it is I was in college at the time and couldn't afford the $70 gas fill up every week.
I still don't know why they haven't made a diesel land rover.

I agree with everything said so far. I have a '99 Land Rover Discovery and although it served me well so far…i know my day is coming.

You have fabulous taste. (Not just in vehicles, I've browsed through your blog and decided this was as good a place as any to leave my compliments.)

Have wanted an LR for many years. Would still love to have one. The RR is my favorite though I have heard they're the most troublesome to own.
