It pleases me to no end when I see guys wearing green sport coats. Maybe as soon as ten to twelve years ago they were out of style, paired with ‘what year did you win the Masters’ comments. Today, they seem to be a staple of mens wardrobes.
I’ve had a few, and have been on the hunt for just the right one. From an OTR perspective, I love Boglioli, LBM, Tombolini, and a few others, most of which you can find on Yoox for STEEP discounts. I usually have a very active cart on the site, and watch the sale prices move. When they hit the right number I pull the trigger.
I found this Breras green jacket about four months ago, and saved it immediately. I love the shade of the green and the texture – two things that are important to me (right after the fit). I did a bunch of Breras research online, learning about the company and the fit, and settled on the EU52 my size. Once the jacket went below $250, I pulled the trigger.
And I’m SO glad I did. This thing is perfect.
The shoulders are non-existent. The torso has a slight taper. The sleeves feature working button holes. The feel of the fabric is extremely soft. It’s not a light jacket, but it’s not heavy – let’s call this a 3.5 season jacket. I love the wider lapels and the patch pockets. For me this dresses the jacket down a bit, which is great as I’ll rarely wear this with a tie. Mainly well cut trousers (grey, tan, navy) or 5-pockets and loafers.
Straight to the starting rotation….
I did not have RCS being a fan of Yoox on my bingo card.
What is yoox? whatever it is, it’s blocked here on my work network
That is pretty sweet. You think you’ll keep the green buttons?
Looks similar to the Mashburn Ghost in green. I just can’t get on board with this as it does have the Masters vibe. When I was shopping for the Ghost blazer, I did look at this but instead chose the Pacific Blue which I guess was a limited run. It is my go-to warm weather blazer.
I have the O’Connells sack with brass buttons. My wife calls it my Masters jacket, I love it.
