I’ve gotten to know John at J.Stephens/RNT Calls over the past couple of years, and this dude is the real deal. I’m VERY excited to announce a partnership between Red Clay Soul and J.Stephens/RNT Calls. Big things coming…
At the heart of RNT’s story is John Stephens, a man who embodies everything good about Southern heritage and authenticity in the field. A three-time World Duck Calling Champion and a world-class craftsman, Stephens carries the torch lit by Butch Richenback and keeps it burning bright. Under his leadership, RNT hasn’t chased trends or hollow hype — it’s doubled down on quality, on sound, and on honoring the Delta’s soul. Stephens builds calls the way great men build legacies: slowly, deliberately, with respect for what came before. In a world full of shortcuts, that kind of patience and pride is rare — and that’s exactly why RNT Calls still stands at the top of the duck-calling world.
We’re going to get deep into their history, more about John, and education on waterfowling/duck calling, but for now, I want to focus on their merch. Bottom line: it’s incredible. It’s the kind of stuff you want to wear, even if you are only a fan of duck hunting…examples:

To celebrate the partnership, John and I are doing a giveaway, where one lucky Red Clay Soul reader stocks up:

Wood ducks – one of the coolest looking birds IMO
Love the classic mallard!! Nothing beats it!!
Always go back to the GA wood duck.
Always a NC Wood duck!
I love a nice pintail. Fun to watch decoy, even more fun to shoot.
I think Wood ducks are my favorite but I have always wanted to get a mature pintail!
Gadwalls as they are what we see the most of where we hunt.

Shooting at mallards is always the best but love watching pintails work, they always seem the most graceful.
While mallards are my favorite to shoot I love the watch pintails work.

Green heads in Arky.
BTW, if y’all get the chance to visit the RNT store in Stuttgart, AR do so. Really cool antique duck calls display and you can enjoy a pint or two at the Flying Duck. Chene has a store next door as well.
Blue Wing teal, look beautiful in the sky and on the wall!
The best ducks to shoot are gadwall
Wood duck.
Canvasbacks on the Susquehanna flats or black ducks on a the eastern shore… hard to chose when MD has such a variety of not only ducks but a variety of ways to hunt.
Wood duck or classic Greenhead!
New stuff looks great. Green Wing Teal buzzing over the top of the blind at first light can’t be beat!
Pintails
Wood ducks hands down the most fun birds to hunt, nothing can humble you faster, no bird more beautiful , nothing beats the leaves changing in mid October and woodies scream down the creek
Mallards in George’s woods
Hard to beat woodies coming in through the woods here in SC.
Whichever I can get in my sights!
