BOOM: Dancing Boykins Calls from RNT

Introducing the Limited Run Bones Dancin Boykin Collection.

RNT took all five of John’s JS Dancin Boykins – Over and Under Boykin, Flag Boykin, Decoy Boykin, Cigar and Bourbon Boykin, and the Calling Boykin – and gave each its own Bones call. Every Boykin is engraved on black acrylic, banded in stainless steel, and hand-painted by Emily Hodges.

One complete set for the collectors who refuse to miss a run.  Presale: $225 each. Limited to 50 per design. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

The Bones was born from John’s personal Jig, which he uses for his J. Stephens “Improved” model duck call, AKA the “Weirdo.”

“ I wanted to design a call that had the same signature ‘crunch’ of a Daisy Cutter, but wanted it to be freer and more aggressive. I also wanted it to work effortlessly on the bottom end, so that it was very easy to produce soft sounds. Where we hunt, we need volume, but we also need to be able to work them close in the buck brush, with soft clucks, quacks, and cadences. I started off with a tone board directly off my jig. I took it hunting the next day, then brought it back to the shop and tweaked it. This went on for several weeks until I got it where I wanted it. When asked about what the call sounded like, I first told someone it has that raspy crunch on top that I love in the call, but it also has a super sexy, seductive lower end. It’s like poison… “ – John Stephens.

The Cigar and Bourbon Boykin is equal parts refinement and attitude, making it a standout in this Bones collection. With the profile’s tight, responsive toneboard and the Boykin’s unmistakable character engraved into black acrylic, this call feels every bit like a collector’s piece. Finished with stainless steel and hand-painted detailing by Emily, this limited run of 50 delivers personality without sacrificing performance.

The Calling Boykin closes the collection with a nod to what ties all of us together: the sound. On the Bones platform, the Calling Boykin artwork becomes a clean, bold statement that honors both the craft and the culture behind these designs. Black acrylic body. Stainless band. Painted by Emily Hodges. Only 50 made. This is the centerpiece of the set for hunters and collectors alike.

The Flying the Flag Boykin brings motion and attitude to the Bones lineup. The slender, aggressive profile of Bones pairs perfectly with the dynamic, wind-driven energy of the Flag Boykin artwork. The black acrylic barrel and stainless band give it a crisp, modern edge, while Emily Hodges’ paintwork brings the design to life. Limited to 50 calls, this is a drop built for collectors who appreciate story and style.

The Over and Under Boykin meets the sharp, hunting-first attitude of the Bones profile. Born from John’s personal jig, this limited-run call blends the punchy rasp Bones is known for with one of the most iconic Boykin illustrations in the JS series. Engraved on black acrylic and finished with stainless steel hardware, each piece is hand-painted by Emily Hodges. Built to hunt. Collected for life. Only 50 exist.

The Decoy Boykin adds a playful, field-true twist to the Bones series. Born from the same jig that shaped the J. Stephens Improved model, this Bones carries a rich bottom end backed by the signature RNT rasp. The engraved Decoy Boykin artwork sits cleanly against the black acrylic finish, detailed by Emily Hodges’ hand-painted touches. Stainless band. Limited run. Only 50 produced.
