Beat The Heat

My favorite part about checking my weather app is the ‘Feels Like’ temperature highlight.  With highs in the (actual) 90s, the ‘feels like’ is hitting triple digits.  That’s about as hot as it gets.  While it might not be the most pleasant of experiences, it is still better than freezing cold.

To battle that heat, I do a lot of tech in the Summer.  Being that I tend to sweat a lot, wearing breathable pieces is one way that I can keep friends.  There is a lot of good stuff out there…here is what I’m sporting this year:

From Top Left:

1. Lululemon 5″ Pool Shorts:  Just about all you need.  The inseam is perfect, and the color options are just right.  Solids, not stripes…
2. Holderness & Bourne Anderson Polo:  A fantastic tech polo.  The cut and fit are just right.  Great to wear on the course or on a date, or with #1 at the pool.  Untucked, of course.
3. Kavu Bobber Hat:  You’ve got a Tilley, and an Aussie, now get something crunchier.
4. Poncho Grey Hoodie:  Still one of the best performance hoodies on the market.  Super soft.  Great for casual wear, around the pool, or slinging poppers at largemouth bass.
5. G-Shock Bluetooth Solar GAB2100:  Add a little color to the wrist.  I bought this watch at the beginning of the summer and can’t stop wearing it.
6. Goodr Potatoes Sunglasses:  How great are Goodr sunglasses?  I love this lighter brown color.  Softer than some of their more colorful options, and still as light.
7. LFG Golden Hour Performance Quarter Zip Hoodie:  Performance q-zip with a hood.  And it’s ‘Dusty Rose’.  It doesn’t get much cooler than this.
8. Dead Clay Soul Tech Rope Hat:  There’s always room for another white tech hat.  Be dead.
9. Rains Trail Tote Bag:  Have you tried a Rains bag yet?  Excellent material – neither sand nor water can penetrate, and it’s super durable.  And the price is juuuuuust right.
10. TSG Brooks Bamboo Long Sleeve Gentleman Check:  The Summer button down…sweat all you want – it’s still a Gentleman check.
11. Havianas Flip Flops:  A fun alternative to the Rainbow/Hari Mari set.
12. True Linkswear True All Day Ripstop v2:  The ripstop fabric is OK to get wet, and it dries quickly. These are made for golf/casual, but try them for Pickleball…trust me.

What do you like during the Summer?

I sweat when I peel an orange so this list was very timely.

Great list as always. I don’t like performance fabrics, and since I spend most of my summers in Miami, I’ve found that linen works best. Tons of options, from customs at Proper Cloth, to some really great options at J Crew. I have a couple of long sleeves I use at the beach & pool for sun protection. Linen looks better the more it’s wrinkled so they don’t require a ton of TLC.
