Braves Gear

It feels like we are coming out of the sports dead zone.  Since the end of college football, all we’ve had are NFL and NBA (yawn), college basketball (SEC dominance), and some golf (which is a complete disaster right now – more on that later).  Pitchers and catchers reported last week, and rumor is a ton of the non-pitching roster showed up early to get going.  I love it.

Let’s talk about good Braves gear.  For the most part, I’m not a huge logo guy, but I like the simple, small, country club-esque logos on good gear that can be incorporated into a normal rotation.  Additionally, I tend to stay away from printed polos and jerseys – just not my style.

Side note: if I ever did get Braves jerseys for Mrs. RCS and me:

Me: preferably a v-neck pullover, #11, and the name would read ‘THE’
Mrs. RCS: traditional white home button up, #1, and the name would read ‘THE OTHER’

We’re such hippies.

Anyway…back to the post.   Lastly, I don’t do flat bills.  In fact, if you are old enough to read this blog, then you shouldn’t either.

Here are a few pieces that I highly recommend:

From Top Left:

1. Bootleg Etsy Braves Hats:  It’s like shopping for lot shirts at a Panic show.  Cooler designs, and no one else will have it.
2. Vineyard Vines Braves Sweatshirt:  There’s always room for another cotton sweatshirt.  Some of those May games get chilly at night.
3. Onward Reserve Truist Park T-shirt:  I love these shirts from Onward, and the Truist artwork is a cool way to show off your loyalty.  They remind me of the old Gameday t-shirts we’d get in Athens.
4. Nike Dri-Fit Long Sleeve T-shirt:  I wear these a lot in the spring.  Good for hanging out, at the park, the fishing boat, or early morning walks.
5. Johnnie-O Coastal Wash Cotton Polo:  Cotton polos = extreme comfort.  And they look cool after a few washes.
6. Peter Millar Microfleece Vest:  Finance bro action.
7. Peter Millar Braves Belt:  A great look for any Braves fan.  Give the club logo a break.
8. Greenville Braves Hat:  Ultimate respect for long-time Braves fans…those of us old enough to remember the Greenville program and a killer logo.  IYKYK.
9. Vintage Simple Comfort Colors Braves T-shirt:  Comfort Colors are the best t-shirts on the market.
10. Johnnie-O Huron Featherweight Polo:  For those late July and August Sunday afternoon games at Truist or on the course.  Tech still has a place.  Your section friends and cart partners will appreciate it.
11. White Braves Dad Hat: I typically search the Sale section on braves.com to see what white dad hats are on sale.  Also good for the golf course or the pool.  Washable.
12. Bobby Cox Jersey T-shirt:  If you are going to sport a jersey, get one of the KING.

What did I miss?

Pondering what type of jersey I’d wear is like thinking about what kind of RV I’d buy- fun exercise but ain’t never gonna happen. Chief Knockahoma is top 3 MLB logo of all time. My oldest daughter is now old enough to attend a game with me and I’m pumped to take her to the ballpark.

I am kind of stuck with the New Era caps. My head is so big I have to get them. I do my best to maintain a curve in the bill though.

Also, my son’s baseball league uses the old school, lower case “a” for the primary logo. So I’m getting one of those this year to wear while coaching. Also, I’m with you on the jerseys. My rule is if they’re younger than me, not wearing a jersey.
