Coal Bags

I have way too many bags. It’s probably a problem. But if I’m being honest, I’m always chasing the same things: function, design, style, and a little bit of uniqueness. When something checks all four boxes, I’m in trouble.

Years ago, I picked up a Dandux coal bag at ACL and used it constantly. I honestly have no idea where it ended up, but I miss it more than I should. Coal bags are just cool. They’re large, wide, and deep, with short handles and a proper grip, all made from heavy, no-nonsense canvas. They feel indestructible.

They’re great for travel, perfect for storage, ideal for hauling clothes to the dry cleaner—whatever you need them to be. They don’t pretend to be precious, and that’s exactly the point. They were built to work, and somehow that makes them better looking than most things designed purely for style.

Anyway, here’s a collection I pulled together from the Internet.

What do you think?
