A round up of some of the coolest, and often forgotten relic of the glorious 80’s and 90’s…especially in fraternity culture: Corduroy hats. These ran the show during the colder months, and usually trickled into the Spring, as they were perfectly broken in. They never matched anything. They had an old beer label, Ducks Unlimited logo, a ski resort script, or something obscure, like ‘Tracker Boats’. I usually quit wearing mine when I cut my out-of-control mane after the Winter months. These are the original obscure hats, not the ‘street style’. These hats weren’t built to be intentionally fratty, or flat billed.
I still have a couple, and especially LOVE wearing them down on 30A. The looks you get from the moms simply for wearing a ‘Marlboro’ red corduroy hat could cut glass. It’s awesome. I can’t wait to get back down there.
The best place to find them are on Ebay, where there are some jewels…and all under $20. Here’s a collection of some GREAT options:
Did I miss any? Send me what you’ve got and I’ll add the images at the bottom of this post.

My grandpa had the vail one. Wore it for years. Good hat.
Would kill for my old Corona cord….
Holy Cow! I have that Vail hat. It’s awesome and the ladies love it!
Damn, now I’m wondering what happened to my Razorbacks cord cap which would be at least 33 years old by now.
