Never stop dating. That’s a principle Mrs. RCS and I have held onto throughout our marriage, and it’s made all the difference. Having a weekly—or at least monthly—date on the calendar gives us something to look forward to, just the two of us. No kids, no chaos, just time to reconnect and remember why we started this whole thing in the first place.
With fall starting to show its hand: crisp mornings, cool evenings, and golden-hour light that hits just right—dressing has become a game of layers. A date that starts at 6 and ends at 10 can easily swing twenty degrees, so plan accordingly. Think about how you assemble your armor before taking your girl out on the town. You’ll thank yourself later when you’re comfortable, confident, and still looking sharp by dessert.

From Top Left:
1. Eton Contemporary Fit Dress Shirt: The best OTR dress shirts out there. You can find them on sale quite a bit, and it’s worth it (<<check that link…).
2. Duck Head Dillon Glen Plaid Sport Coat: Duck Head nailed the sport coats this season, especially this Glen Plaid. The pattern walks the line perfectly—structured but relaxed once broken in. Also doubles as a classy gesture when your date feels a chill in the air.
3. Randolph Heritage Aviator Sunglasses: Randolph continues to push fresh colorways while keeping the classic silhouette intact. The almond metal frame is a sharp update to a timeless shape.
4. Jacob Hill One-Piece Alligator Belt: The nicest belt you’ll own. One-piece is a big deal, and I’ll tell you why in a bit (more to come with these guys).
5. Peter Millar Superior Soft Corduroy 5-Pockets: Cords have evolved. What was once heavy and baggy is now sleek and modern. These are a perfect alternative to chinos or any slim-cut five-pocket – especially this time of year.
6. Swatch Olive Rush Watch: We are entering the era of ‘low cost alternative’ as it relates to watches. This is a PRIME example.
7. Grant Stone Traveler Loafers: I’m on my third pair and completely hooked. They’ve got that gunboat feel—sturdy but not clunky—and they’re insanely comfortable. Worth every penny.
8. “Live Dead”: If there’s a vibe for a Fall date night, it’s the 23-minute ‘Dark Star’. It’s so good.
What did I miss? What are you digging this Fall?
