Father’s Day Gift Guide

Sup, Dads?

The number one question I get from our female readers is ‘what do I get for my husband [insert the ‘who likes to (enter activity)’]’.  The majority of these guys are dads, and I get that we are tough to shop for.  We play the want vs. need game a lot, and don’t pull the trigger on a lot of things that are super cool.  Well, with Father’s Day coming up, I thought I’d head off the questions – here is a list of goodies that ANY dad would like.  They may not be needs, but they are quite a few wants:

From top left:

1. Ledbury Tulu Fishing Shirt:  The adult version of a fishing shirt.  For a couple more bucks than what is currently on the market, these can be tailored for a perfect fit.  Not only that, these are easy to dress up for outdoor summer activities that don’t involve a body of water (think outdoor concerts, backyard BBQs, and neighborhood Fight Clubs).  Enjoy.
2. Holderness & Bourne Ventura Vest:  My absolute favorite vest on the market.  Super lightweight, and cut just right. Great for the course or heading into work in the morning.
3. Magnolia League Pantheon Kit:  Get your guy looking and smelling right.  Magnolia has it figured out… More to come from these guys.
4. Dimple & Divot Golf Tool:  A great gift for the golfer dad.  The hickory wood is such a cool touch – this is something he’s sure to use.
5. Sentinel Golf Stash Pouch:  Sentinel can do no wrong.  The perfect size for the golf cart, or the pool/beach bag.  Store all your goodies in style and protect them from the elements.  And dads love to be organized.
6. WSP Smathers & Branson Belt:  The perfect gift for those post-frat dads who remember Mikey, and who’s principles have reached and ALL TIME LOW.
7. Orvis Fly Fishing Nippers:  The best on the market.  The lever action is a must-have.  I’ve tried a bunch, but keep going back…
8. “The Believer” by David Coggins:  Dads can read.  Get him something good.
9. Hudson Sutler Heritage Weekender Duffel:  HS makes fantastic bags – from duffles to shoe bags to garment bags.  Waxed or nylon.  They’ve figured out efficient design and good, timeless style.  Get it right.
10. Case Trout/Bird Knife:  Blades are cool.
11. Oak Street Bootmakers Natural Roughout Camp Mocs:  I got a pair of these on a whim a few years ago, and can’t stop wearing them (instead of drivers).  The roughout leather gives them some texture, and they look great dressed up or dressed down.  The do-everything moc.
12. Yakoda Supply Smugger Bag:  For the dad who packs it in.  Great for lunch, or even MORE organization.  Can’t have enough.  And the Yakoda stuff is made so well, it’ll last forever.
13. Gridiron Golf Game:  This may be the sleeper of the season.  For those of you that need some action during happy hour/neighborhood parties/boring conference calls, this is right up your ally.  Much more to come from these guys…

What did I miss?

Great List. I am a hard person to get gifts for because I tend to get things I like throughout the year or sales as they come about. Things on my personal ‘want’ list : The Durand Wine Opener, Criquet Terrycloth Players shirt, another La Matera Polo Belt and the big is another watch to my personal collection. My wife and I had our 10 year anniversary earlier in the year and I have been trying to decide want I want.

Take a look at the new Dr. Slick Cyclone nippers. They cut amazing and are a fraction of the cost and come with an extra set of blades.
