Prince was an integral part of my music awakening in the 80’s. The video for “When The Doves Cry” was so popular on MTV – it literally played every hour on the hour. I had all the tapes – then CDs. There was nothing like Prince, at that time, or now. He is and will continue to be the true definition of an artist.
Dave Grohl was on Howard Stern yesterday, and this exchange sums it up:
Stern: “Was Prince a better musician than you?”
Grohl: “What are you talking about? Hell, Prince was a better DRUMMER than me.”
