The way things seem to be headed with increasing national debt, downgraded national debt quality, expanding enroachments of the federal government into our lives, a federal government that mantains set asides and quotas based on race and gender, and a country in which citizenship is so de-valued that the U.S. Justice Department is suing states to prohibit them from requiring proof of citiznship in order to exercise the franchise (apparently, the only benefit of U.S. citizenship that can’t be conferred on a non-citizen while residing within our borders is that one gets to register with the Selective Service)….I’m thinking being a Canadian [or insert various other nationalities] looks pretty attractive. If the men who fought in our revolution could see the nightmare of our culture and civic life, they’d have thrown down their muskets in despair.
