Hive Mind: Wedge Stamps

I love customization.  Anything that creates a uniqueness or exclusivity is an immediate attention-grabber.

Apply that to the golf world – specifically golf clubs, and wedges seem to be a great way to give your bag/clubs/etc. a little personality.  I did it last time I got fitted for my wedges.  Truespec did these Dead transition stamps to my three wedges:

EST>EYES
CHINA>RIDER
SCARLET>FIRE

Last week I got a text from my buddies down at Live Forever Golf, and they went the WSMFP route on their set:

Lastly, an accountant buddy of mine just ordered his set after getting fitted by Vokey.  He’s getting two, and went with:

C.R.E.A.M.
EBITA

You see where this is going…

Let’s hear it, Red Clay Soldiers.  What are your creative ideas for wedge stamps?  What have you seen that you like?  Share it in the comments.

This should be fun…

Pretty cool low-key way to show some personality. I don’t think I’ve seen this type of personalization out in the wild yet, but it’s got me thinking about what I’d put on my wedges.

I’m a high school golf coach and have a reputation for being a bit eccentric and an old soul. I play with a full set of Hogan Directors from the 80s. With that being said, nothing says nostalgic trio better than Moe, Larry, and Curly!

Galleon, well played. Damn haven’t seen that in a set since 90s??

They actually broke it about before Fishwater on 8/10/22 ar the Fox Theater. It was the 20th Anniversary of Mikey’s passing.

It was basically all Mikey songs. Amazing show. That was my 3rd Galleon and yes the other ones I caught were in the 90s. I think Panic has the best instrumentals and they got quite a few as well.

Obviously if you know Galleon you know Panic. I took a break between 2003-2017 from going to Panic shows because it wasn’t the same. Even the 2017 shows weren’t good but then I went 12/31/18, 12/31/19, 8/10/22 and 12/31/23. The boys are back and playing just about as good as 97-01. Pretty cool to see.

My other Galeons are 10/29/00 and 3/29/97.
For anybody that reads go see Panic again. They won’t play forever and are literally killing it again!

You are so right. I actually enjoyed the early George McConnell days (hot take I know) and thought Jimmy Herring wasn’t the best fit when he came on. I didn’t see WSP at all 2008-20221 until summer show in 2022 that knocked my socks off. Even Duane Trucks impressed me. Of course, Panic has been playing with another lead guitarist for about as long as they had Mikey. Absolutely run, don’t walk to a WSP show!

You definitely know your Panic. I gave George multiple attempts but it wasn’t the same and I was graduating college in 2004 so timing wasn’t the best on
a personal level to follow my favorite band around the country. Duane Trucks is phenomenal!

          Mikey era reigns supreme

I saw 90 Mikey shows and yes it reigns supreme but since late 2018 Widespread Panic is just as good of a band as the Mikey era. It’s just a little different. Herring stills plays too many notes from time to time but it’s as close as it’s ever going to be the Mikey era. If WSP is playing near ATL I’ll be at the show unless it’s the same weekend as a big Auburn game.
