I’ve been a fan of Marsh Wear Clothing for quite some time. They produce high-quality fishing and casual gear that won’t crush your checking account but performs up to the specs you’d expect when on the water or at the Tiki Bar.
A segment that I’m particularly excited about is their Prime Shorts. They feature my favorite thing about fishing-specific gear: it doesn’t look like fishing gear. These shorts look like standard chino shorts – both technical and cotton/canvas. Given the success of these shorts, Marsh Wear now offers them in two builds: The Vintage Prime Shorts (left), and the standard Prime Shorts (right):
Out of the box, you’ll immediately see and feel the difference. The Vintage Prime Shorts are a medium cotton blend (97% cotton, 3% stretch) that has a clean cut, zippered back pockets, mesh front pockets, and a hidden ‘buffet’ waistband for just the right fit.
The standard Prime Shorts are cut exactly the same but are constructed out of a technical hybrid blend (96% nylon, 4% spandex). The standards have a little more movement, therefore don’t need the buffet waistband.
Both are offered in a bunch of colors – what you see here is Khaki and Antler – both will get a ton of wear this Spring/Summer. From a sizing perspective, my experience is that they don’t offer a ton of vanity, so order your actual waist size (for example I wear a 33 in Duck Head and a 34 in Marsh Wear). They feature an 8″ inseam, which is pretty standard for chinos these days. And at $59/pop, it’s hard to beat. High value proposition.

I’m eyeing their Delano Shacket…
Good design, good price point
I’m new to this brand. Curious as to the leg opening on these? Leg opening for me is more important than inseam/outseam b/c you can’t get the leg opening altered.
