Around these parts, Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff of Summer. It’s already in the mid-80s and the bass are hitting topwater. The humidity has held off, but the heat is on.
Our Memorial Day weekends are typically a LOT of pool, a bunch of cookouts, baseball, staying up late, and whatever riff-raff we can get ourselves into. We have a big day planned for Monday: a huge pool party followed by a cookout. Here’s how I’m doing it:
From top left:
1. B.Draddy Willie Hoodie: Perfect pool shirt for the low-humidity days. Not really for swimming (I’ll keep a swim shirt in #11), but what I’m sporting while socializing. And don’t forget – RCS20 gets you 20% off ANYTHING over at B.Draddy.
2. Stealie Flag Cap: I mean, it’s seriously cool.
3. Turtlebox Ranger: Tunes that travel. From the course to the pool to the backyard. Rockin’.
4. Holderness & Bourne Hunter Polo: A great cotton polo for the post-pool cookout.
5. Abercrombie Seersucker Trunks: Don’t sleep on the Abercrombie swimsuits. 5.5″ inseam and great fabrics, and the price is insanely good.
6. Goodr Mach 3 Sunglasses: Going on season three with these bad boys. To say I’ve gotten my money’s worth…understatement.
7. Casio G-Shock Casioak: Something a little flashy. ‘Tis the season.
8. PennBilt Club Shorts: These are probably my favorite chino shorts of the moment. I’m glad they added some different color options—their red is just about perfect.
9. Sunscreen: Please don’t forget. I know what I’m talking about.
10. Oak Street Bootmakers Rough Out Camp Mocs: I’m not sure what all the boat shoe hype is about, but these are working extremely well for me.
11. Duck Camp Mesh Tote: Our go-to pool bag. Just the right size, just the right fabric (easy to clean!), and structured so it won’t fall over. Boom.
12. Rubirosa Joan Sneakers: Leave them loosely tied for easy on and off. Great for this time of year.
13. Manyatta Beaded Belt: Something cool and different. Great color options.
What did I miss?
Good looks on the Abercrombie trunks. So good.
Someone please help me understand why there is some sort of camp moc VS boat shoe thing, like one is good and one is bad. They are about as similar of shoes you could get any most people wouldn’t even know the difference lol.
Y’all can pry my Sperry Billfish from my cold, dead, flat feet.
I think boat shoes have become somewhat synonymous with try-hards who also sport copious amounts of Vineyard Vines and Chubbies shorts.
I can understand that stereotype, I just don’t think most people would think camp mocs are any different. If I got camp mocs, my wife would probably call them sperrys lol
Nothing says you shop at Kohl’s like wearing Sperry Billfish as an adult. Not to mention the Billfish are particularly ugly. The boat shoes need to be tossed after college, friends
Whoa whoa I buy my Billfish at Belk thank you very much!
$425 for “lifestyle” shoes? No thanks.
