I get AMA questions all the time about tailors in and around Atlanta. The honest answer is that they are tough to find. Well – those that actually know what they are doing. It’s easy to get a pair of pants hemmed or sleeves of a dress shirt shortened, but when you need someone to take in a dress shirt, fix the shoulder bulge of a sport coat, or taper pants, or install button holes in a blazer, it’s imperative to find someone that has experience and know-how, or else the garment is all but lost.
Here’s the good news: my friends at Miller Brothers have re-vamped their tailor shop, and the whole experience. What was once an in-house tailor is now a stand-alone business (actually right across the parking lot from the Miller Brothers flagship store), and can handle ALL of your tailoring needs. Both men and women!
Hernando and his team are absolute professionals. I got a tour of the new facility, and it’s clean and comfortable. The team is comprised of a bunch of super cool guys that take what they do seriously. As evidenced by the racks of high-end pieces, the Atlanta population is putting their trust in these folks. They tailor any and all pieces; not exclusively purchased from Miller Brothers.
I brought three pieces to have some work done: an LBM jacket that needed buttonholes, a pair of Hickey Freeman suit pants that needed tapering/tailoring, and a pair of Raleigh Denim jeans that needed to be hemmed. They were ready in about 10 days, and are all perfect.
