I recently spent some time in New Orleans…I hadn’t been there in years, and it didn’t take long for me to remember my favorite part of the city: the food (and drinks). I didn’t capture it all, but here are some of the goods:
Beignets and coffee at Cafe du Monde
Bacon-wrapped Shrimp & Grits at Mr. B’s
The Cheeseburger and loaded baked potato at Port of Call. Thanks @CCPrep for the recommendation
Raw dozen on the half shell at Drago’s (for a starter)
…and a dozen Charbroiled oysters at Drago’s (for dinner). Thanks @StateTraditions – you were right.
…until next time…
Of course this would get posted the day after I return from Nola. Not helping with my case of the Mondays. But I agree, the food of New Orleans is second to none
As a born & raised New Orleanian, trips to Cafe du Monde never get old. And next time you’re in town, make sure to check out what Uptown has to offer. The French Quarter is great, but cross Canal Street and the dining options expand twofold.
I’ve eaten a ton of seafood throughout my life, but to this day, the charbroiled oysters at Drago’s is the single best seafood dish I have ever eaten
Im glad you had a great experience in nola. We NEED the business down here. Anyway next time you come down try Cochon. You wont be dissappointed. That place is amazing. Your site is awesome by the way.
