What a cool truck. The International Scout was produced as a 2-door competitor to the Jeep from 1961 – 1980 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A buddy of mine had a black one in college, which we used and abused. You don’t see as many of these as you do the Land Cruisers or Wagoneers, but I believe it ranks right up there. When I was a little kid, our country neighbors had an old green Scout they used on their farm. I remember riding in it and thinking it was just so cool with “all those knobs” and that it could go out in the fields like a tractor. Forty five years later, I drive an old green Land Rover and fondly recall those memories.
Another chapter of the proud Indiana auto tradition right up there with Studebaker and the Hummer.
