I could very easily argue that Filson’s Medium Duffle is the absolute must-have travel bag. The original size was a hefty 25″ x 14″ x 13″, which is what I have. It is perfect for Mrs. RCS and I use for most weekend trips. They recently shortened it just a bit to a 20″ x 13″ x 12″, and gave it a bit more of a squared structure for easier packing, and more efficient use of the space. It is currently offered in five canvas shades: otter green, black, navy, tan, and brown, a dry option, and the recently released leather option – which is absolutely incredible.
The Medium Duffle gets a ton of press, and usually sells out from most retailers around the holiday season, and for good reason. As any Filson owner knows, you only have to buy it once. It’ll last forever. I came across these images from an ad on Etsy, and thought I’d share. There isn’t much more handsome than a well patina’ed Filson. Check out this beauty:
So who’s with me? What’s your favorite Filson bag?
Twenty dollars worth of burlap with a few leather strips; $425. Jezuz f’ing Christ. There’s a place in Portland, OR that serves “rustic trout”, basically trout roasted on a metal fork, for $99. Trout made just like that in a hobo camp in the ’30s.
We are all just idiots.
That trout doesn’t have a lifetime warranty, this will be the last bag you ever have to buy, guaranteed.
personally, I think my medium duffle is a little big, new size might be the way to go.
