Holcomb’s is good, but I wouldn’t drive 30 miles to Greensboro just to have it. I readily drive 35 miles to have Zeb’s, it is the best Q in NE Georgia.
I am not fond of Zebs stew.I have had Holcombs,I like it better.
My husband and I had our first date at Zeb’s in 1997 and are still together!! We love it!!

You just cannot beat Zeb’s BBQ! And their stew is THE BEST. We love going inside to sit at a table with a pitcher of iced tea and a loaf of Sunbeam bread on every table. They even have their bottled sauce in every table. When the plates come, your mouth is watering way before they reach the table.

I travel extensively. Holcomb’s stew is the Gold Standard by which all other stews are judged. The only “hash” here is #goodstew.
If Zeb”s wins I want to try it because I’ve never tasted anything better than Holcomb’s BBQ.

I grew up having Zebs Barbque all my life. We use to get it almost every Saturday. The atmosphere of feeling like you are part of their family has never left. I will always stand by that they have the best stew I have ever had. Now getting to have Zebs as I got older and introducing my grandbabies to it is just heart warming. Go Zebs I hope you win this.

Holcomb’s was served at out daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner. She absolutely wouldn’t have anything else. Why would she? She had been eating it all her life. Nothing says southern like Holcomb’s BBQ.

I definitely woulf say Zebs. The BBQ is moist and the stew has plenty of meat in it.
The first time my brother took me to Zeb’s, I didn’t expect anything any different than I had always eaten. Boy was I surprised. That was without a doubt the best barbecue I have ever put into my mouth. Zeb’s is #!.

Never eaten Zebs BBQ and it is probably good but I have eaten Holcomb’s BBQ and it is so so so delicious!! And the folks working there are some mighty fine folks!

My Aunt lived in Royston and I still have cousins who live there and I loved going to Zeb’s. I wish I lived closer. I would like to have some right now. The bbq and stew the best!!

WOW, really guys??? Its not how “Christian” you look on the outside, i.e. “GOING TO CHURCH ON SUNDAYS” but rather your personal relationship with God. Yes, Zeb’s is open on Sundays-even if its for only a few hours…Firefighters, Police Officers, EMT’s, Doctors etc.They work Sundays as well, and 12HR SHIFTS AT THAT! That doesn’t mean they don’t have a relationship with God. If anything they have MORE of a servants heart!!! Its sad that a someone would attack a family business and their employees moral values over a simple BBQ Competition. Really. I have never had Holcombs, so I cannot compare it to Zeb’s. But when it comes down to humanity, hospitality, community, and Zeb’s wonderful food…Hands down, I suppose nothing really could compare. So, ZEB’s it is!!!

Moved from Danielsville to Augusta in 2008 and I still come back for Zebs! Can’t find anything better. I’ve brought some back for friends and they love it too! Wish we had one here!

We love Zeb Dean’s BBQ!!! My Aunt Cille worked there most of her life and between my Great-Grandmother, my Grandmother, and my momma… I think it’s safe to say I was raised on their BBQ and Stew… Its the only stew I will eat, hands down. And the sauce… not too spicy and not too sweet. Zeb’s should be the official BBQ of the UGA Bulldogs! Lord knows them boys love it as much as we do!!!!
…!!! WHAT A DILEMMA !!!… DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE….. I have eaten at Zebs most of my life … (63 years)… and at Holcoms for over 30 years…. It makes the right side of my mouth want to fight the left side of my mouth…. and for Heavens sake… don’t get any of that sauce on the side of my face…cause my tongue will twist my head so far around it might break my neck…!!!!

I have had both….and you can’t go wrong with either! The sauce and the stew make Zeb’s my favorite, but the meat and those wonderful sweet pickles at Holcomb’s make it pretty special, too! Congrats to both for making it to the finals and to Zeb’s for taking the prize!
