I’m as much of a watch guy that my (and Mrs. RCS’s) wallet will allow. I have a Panerai PAM112 and love it, but I also have a Seiko SKX009 that I have on a NATO strap, a Luminox 3501 BLACKOUT, and a vintage Omega Seamaster that I wear on more formal occasions. I’ve got my eye on a couple more, but that’s for another post.
One watch brand that has been making a TON of noise is Daniel Wellington. Their business is simple – just like their watches. Produce a line of simple, basic quartz dress watches. Quite frankly, I like it. I think it’s a great entry watch, or an everyday watch for any guy – whether at a high school graduation, or for the Hodinkee-level watch collector. There’s ALWAYS room for a simple watch. Think of the Daniel Wellington watch like a pair of Levis 501s, a white oxford, and a pair of loafers. Classic, and relevant. And the rose gold option is really nice…
This is a great idea for a Christmas gift…all of my buddies that have one like them. Grab one at East Dane, or head into any of the Onward Reserve stores. They have a bunch on hand.
DW is a great day to day with a very clean look. I have the rose gold case which is a nice change of pace. I like it for the golf course as well, it’s low profile doesnt get in the way or add extra weight and its a classy touch.
