RCS Holiday Gift Guide: The Hunter

Looking for gifts for the guy who loves to spend time in the woods, in the deer stand, chasing hunting dogs, or just enjoys the lifestyle?  Here’s your list.  This is a collection of sure-fire gear that he’s sure to enjoy both in and out of the field.  For the Hunter:

From Top Left:

1. Tom Beckbe Piedmont Jacket:  The replacement for the Tensaw ES, a perfectly weighted jacket for us South of the Mason-Dixon line.  All the functionality and quality you’ve come to expect from our friends at Tom Beckbe.
2. Ball and Buck Mesh Snapback Camo Hat:  The coolest camo in all the land, now available in a mesh snapback.
3. Obenauf’s:  For the guy who already has a few pairs of hunting boots, this stuff is magical in leather treatment and waterproofing.  A great stocking stuffer.
4. Wren & Ivy Heirloom Ditty Bag:  All you need when heading to the duck blind, timber, or on a quail buggy.  Extremely thoughtful, and a place for everything you need – including a spot to keep your sandwich warm.
5. Braeval Paddock Upland Stewart Shirt:  The ‘anti-tech’ shirt.  Made from 80% cotton/20% wool, this bad boy will handle all the elements, with a gentleman’s plaid.  Perfect for #lodgewear.
6. Duck Camp Fleece Hand Warmer:  Those early mornings in the deer stand or duck blind get cold, and having a place to keep your hand warm is key.  This is the way to go.
7. Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter Knife:  Every hunter needs a collection of knives, and the Hidden Canyon from Benchmade is a great option, that’ll handle 80% of all jobs in the field.  Or it looks cool on your desk as a letter opener.
8. Orvis Missouri Breaks Field Pants:  These have become my go-to field pants.  A medium weight with 5-pocket styling, and a great cut.  Not baggy at all, but not like a pair of Stranglers.  Just what the doctor ordered.
9. Surefire EP4 Ear Plugs:  The best $15 you’ll spend on ear protection.  Shoot – order two pairs.
10. Kuiu Base Camp Pullover Sweater:  Layers are key when in the field, and having a pullover sweater before the sun comes up or after the cold front pushes through will keep you comfortable.
11. Filson Heritage Sportsman Bag:  The coolest bag that Filson makes.  This is what I’ve asked for from Santa…
12. Smartwool OTC Wool Socks:  All I wear.  Smartwool has it figured out.
13. TSG Waxed Briar Chaps:  Don’t like Field Pants?  Waxed chaps are a great alternative over your jeans or pants.  And these from TSG feature their cool Oxbow camo.
14. Yeti Load Out GoBox:  I’m 100% sold on these boxes.  The perfect vessel to carry all of my junk.
15. Black Diamond Headlamp:  A must-have for any field bag.  Ensure it has not only the spotlight but the red option as well.
16. Russell Moccasin Joe’s PH Premier Boots:  Already have the pull-ons?  Adding a pair of Joe’s PH boots in the Bison leather is a great alternative.  I have a pair and wear them in the dove field, quail field, and bumming around town.

What did I miss?
