Here in the South, it gets cold, but not the bone-chilling, disgusting cold that they experience in higher latitudes. Manage the cold… Here’s how we do it:
L-R Starting at Top Left:
1. Cabela’s 100% Ragg Wool Leather Palm Gloves: Golf course rules – never own gloves that are too big/fancy to put in your pocket.
2. Carhartt Detroit Jacket: Probably bought years ago and adorned with grease stains, paint, and a hole or two. The perfect chore coat.
3. Orvis Ultra-Ragg Crew Neck Sweatshirt: In all seriousness, always have a good sweatshirt. This is the utility player of utility players.
4. Levis Shrink-To-Fit 501s: More than likely evolved over the years to weekend wear. Broken in, and ready for business. These are built like a tank.
5. LL Bean Signature Waxed Canvas 6″ Maine Hunting Shoe: All-weather options – you can never go wrong.
6. Wigwam 40 Below Socks: There is nothing worse than cold and wet feet. Use #5 and these to do the trick.
L-R Starting at Top Left:
1. Barbour Beaufort: Handles all the elements.
2. Jack Spade Doc Naval Shawl Sweater: The shawl is good for the neck.
3. Sid Mashburn Wool Donegal Trousers: Thick wool trousers should be in your closet. Flannel, Donegal, etc. Make it so.
4. Alden for J. Crew Waxed Longwings: The thick soles stand up to wet sidewalks – even the occasional ice.
5. Gitman Brothers Vintage Cambridge Overdyed Oxford: Great time of the year to break out the darker shirts.
6. Smart Turnout ‘Adjutant General’s Corps’ Socks: When you must wear socks, show a little style.
L-R Starting at Top Left:
1. APC New Standard Jeans: Step it up here, guys. Try these on; you’ll like them.
2. Ledbury Friedman Check Sport Shirt: Everyone should own at least one really nice shirt. This is the time to wear it.
3. Bonobos Wellington Cashmere Sweater: She won’t be able to keep her hands to herself…
4. Martin Dingman Albert Belt: Take the opportunity to show a little style here.
5. Billy Reid Kentwood Lug-Distress Cordovan Boots: It is Winter, and we are in the South, so stay true to your roots.
Love that date night outfit.
If only I could afford $275 wool trousers. Nice though.
Enjoyed the weekend look – definitely more of the southern style I go for in the winter
I tell you, man — you put together some serious OC. Thanks for keeping this place running and interesting.
