Mrs. RCS and I were bumming around Buckhead yesterday, and we decided to stop by a couple estate sales. As most of you know, we do enjoy the second-hand sales, as we both love the hunt. We usually come across some great finds (follow my Instagram and you’ll see some fun stuff)
She found this and asked “do you think you can clean this up?” It’s an old silver champagne bucket from Capital City Club, a great country club here in Atlanta. It was EXTREMELY tarnished, but a great size, and really heavy.
The $45 price tag was a little high, but when I found out it was 50% off, it was a no brainer. We bought it, and I got to work. I did my normal Tarn-X work, and then got busy with the polish cloth. I was very pleased with the results:
Mrs. RCS is growing some blue hydrangeas that’ll look good in this guy. All in all, not too shabby for $23.
More than a little jealous
Fun Fact: The Capital City Club course, originally known as Brookhaven Country Club, was one of the 15 Original clubs included in the Georgia State Golf Association.
You could say that CCC is what got the GSGA going by hosting the inaugural State Am in 1916, which was won by Bobby Jones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=KN5906JIp9I
