Almost every brand releases a Spring collection, and they are all welcome in this neck of the woods. I’m not a big fan of the cold, so seeing the warmer weather fabrics, palettes, and fits are a sight for sore (cold) eyes. One of the best in the business is Drake’s, the England-based company that produces some of the finest OTR menswear on the planet. Their Spring collection is special: it’s done from a Charleston perspective. I absolutely love what’s going on. You can see the whole collection on their website, but for now, I’ll let the pictures tell the story:
Great collection. I love the Steve McQueen look of the white canvas sneakers (Jack Purcells work great) with chinos for a spring/summer look.
Love the photo shoot! Drake’s style is a nice addition to the Charleston area! One thing style fail to me is wearing a button down shirt with an unbuttoned collar, it just misses the style mark for me!
Like all things Charleston – I don’t get it. If I want to dress like a South Carolinan who eats at Dodge’s Chicken, has a poorly maintained garden, and lives in a vinyl sided house complete with outdoor boat and mobile home in yard (Last picture) – I’ll just go to the USC bookstore.
Gotta agree (to a point) with poor man.. im (quite) lost on even the possibility of (what hopefully is an) abstract product positioning against that city. Love this site for sure but Drakes is lost on me with this one. More akin to an awkard 80’s fashion montage with a completely irrelevant backdrop. Highly priced (albeit nice quality) catalog with dated modeling and cut n paste pictures of southern town. Maybe if i ate some mushrooms i would get it 😉
Im assuming you were paid for this write up.

@Chuck – I am a big fan of the advertising approach. More creative than the posed/modeled stuff you see out There. Not paid a cent for the post. I just like it.
