Every year around this time, guys start reaching for boots.
And I get it. There’s something about Fall that makes you want to lean into heavier textures, darker leather, flannel, wool, etc. Boots feel like the obvious move. But if you actually look at how most of us live in the South, September, October, and November are not exactly boot weather. It’s 58 degrees in the morning, 75 by lunch, and you’re probably headed to dinner and seriously thinking about eating outside that night.
That’s where a great suede loafer quietly becomes the most useful shoe you own.
I’ve spent a lot of time around loafers, and the Martin Dingman Bologna Italian Suede Tassel Loafers in Walnut hit that sweet spot better than most. They don’t try too hard. They’re not loud. But they elevate just about everything you put on.
Start with the color. Walnut is one of those shades that works. Especially in the Fall. It’s deeper than your standard tan suede, but it’s not as harsh as black.
