In Hand: Toadfish Filet Knives

My friends at Toadfish seem to have it all figured out.  I’ve enjoyed their light and their box.  Very innovative, and very useful for my seemingly endless adventures.

I recently got my hands on a couple of their filet knives to try out, and I am thoroughly impressed – especially for the price.  Toadfish offers their knives in a variety of blade lengths: 5″, 6″, 7″, and 8″.  I got the 5″ and the 8″.

What I like (besides the price): the grip is great.  Allows for a firm hold when getting down to business.  The carbon stainless steel blade is extremely sharp out of the box and takes to sharpen well.  I also like the sheath.  A very ‘throw it in the bag’ feel.  So far, we are keeping the big boy in our kitchen, and I’m keeping the small one in my tackle box.

I’ll report back after I have a couple of months of use.
