And here it is. The college football season is here… It’s a weird feeling starting as the 2X National Champions and lining up to win a third. It’s not, however, a weird feeling to see Notre Dame completely overranked. Thanks, NBC.
I digress. At this point, being a Dawg fan is a responsibility. Being under the national microscope, it’s incumbent on Bulldogs to dress the part. To do that, let’s level-set. What are the great pieces you need while playing any/all college football teams that aren’t as good as you? Here you go…stock up on these that work together, but are also transitional depending on the weather:
From Top Left:
1. Peter Millar X Dick Ferguson’s 1962 UGA Helmet Polo: A red polo is foundational for any Dawg fan. Given that the first few games are going to be a bit warm, a lightweight tech polo is acceptable.
2. Miller Brothers X Smathers ‘HBTD’ Needlepoint Belt: I shouldn’t need a caption for this. How the Miller Brothers will keep these in stock is a mystery to me.
3. Bootleg UGA Hat: Sure, you can find UGA hats anywhere. Avoid the NASCAR look and go with something bootleg that probably has licensing issues.
4. Holderness & Bourne Harwood Shorts: Along with #1, let’s avoid the Lucas Glover BMW swamp-ass look and go with a well-cut technical pair of shorts. The fans sitting behind you will be thankful.
5. Oakley Frogskin Sunglasses: You’re already well stocked up on Goodrs, so kick it old school.
6. Nike Air Pegasus ’89: Speaking of old school…these are about as cool as it gets.
I hope everyone has fun. Go Dawgs!
Might as well look good while you’re watching the team with the easiest schedule in the SEC play against such stalwarts as UT-Martin and UAB. Yawn.
Go Irish!
Florida will be tough it looks like

You guys want another shot at them Dawgs? ND is 0-3 against them champs!
Would love it. No way UGA schedules a game with a ranked non-conference opponent!
UGA was supposed to play Oklahoma (ranked #20) Sept 9, but it was canceled when they joined the SEC – hence the initial cupcake schedule.
I did not know that!
Why was the bama-texas game left intact?
Today will be the 61st day that the temperature rose to 100 or higher in Austin this year. I’m not sure I could have survived without the new (at least to me) Orvis button-down shirts made with performance linen and hemp/tencel. They breathe incredibly well, which is critical in the heat. Plus, they iron easily if you need to look spiffier.
