There is something to be said for Patagonia’s foresight. They created some of the coolest, and loudest clothing WAY before Old Row and the like have done their darnedest to make it cool again. The pieces that stood out for me were the Snap-Ts. This iconic piece is burned into pre-Frat, Frat, and Post-Grad lore, and were a nod to the ‘who gives a sh!t if it matches’ crew. Which was pretty much all of us. I wasn’t as into the patterns as some, instead opting for the solid designs. I had a red, a blue, ‘oatmeal’ that everyone had, and an orange one. I found a green one at Goodwill, and actually wear it duck hunting. Fleece works folks, and there are a bunch of companies who are on the bandwagon. Few do it like Patagonia.
Patagonia still sells Snap Ts today, but they aren’t as cool as the vintage jobs. They are few and far between on eBay and other vintage sites, but they can usually be found at about 50% of retail (max). Here is a roundup of a few good examples:
I had this one!!:

Which one(s) did you have? What color combo?

I had the exact orange one pictured above. It was especially useful at at a certain cocktail party in 2014 when an orange and blue clad football team ran for over 400 yards on their opponent on a cold and blustery day.
I have 2 of the LL Bean versions that I wear all the time. A beat to hell one and a I can go out in public one.
I had an LL Bean one in the early 90’s thru late 90’s. My kid’s each have one, don’t forgot about P-gonia’s Worn & Wear webstore for vintage P-gonia gear.
I’ve had 3 over the last 25 years. Cookie Monster blue from 96′, oatmeal from 00′, and my wife bought me a new one last year. With the exception of a few minor cigarette burns from college, they’re in great shape. My Mother has a hunter green version that’s 20 years old. The elastic fell apart last year and was fixed for free at the Buckhead store. As usual, customer service is top notch.
I have an old Keystone CO Woolwich snap-t- love breaking it out. The only issue is the collar is so worn in and thin, it cannot stand up, flops over like a wilted fern. I was considering starching and ironing it but never tried it. Any suggestions?
