Russell Moccasin Camp Mocs

I’ve talked about Russell Moccasin boots for years, and believe that they are the best.  Top shelf.  Not only that, but they stand by their product, and fix what needs fixing.  They produce a 30-year relationship between boots and their owners.  That’s a lot more than a retail transaction.

Given that Russell Moccasin hand makes all of their boots and shoes, I was looking to add a little something to my Camp Moc collection.  The first time I saw Russell Moccasin Camp Mocs was at Sid Mashburn back in 2010, and really liked the simplicity.  Minimal construction, no metal, and soft leather.  My collection is pretty solid, but considering I find myself wearing these more and more, I didn’t think a little variety would hurt.

I am a huge fan of buffalo leather.  I love the look, it’s extremely tough, and it ages well.  My Colonel Littleton front pocket wallet is a testament to that.  Russell offers two buffalo hides: Cognac and Chocolate.  Chocolate may be a little dark to wear with shorts, so I decided to go with the Cognac leather.  Since Russell has my sizes on file, they were able to make these to spec.  Now, Buffalo should really form to my feet and soften up a bit, so I foresee a long, healthy relationship with these.  Off to the races…

They showed up the other day, and I couldn’t be happier.  Here is some eye candy:
