Team: The good folks at Tecovas just released a pretty great option for all us cowboy boot folks. The Jasper, which is made with 100% smooth quill ostrich. These have the appearance of smooth leather, but as supple as the full-quill ostrich (I wear my Dukes all the time. I would consider those my go-to Tecovas).
The boots are a special edition, so they won’t be available forever. They are offered in two colorways: the Scotch (above), and the Gunsmoke (below). I’m normally a brown cowboy boot guy…but that grey is pretty sharp…

And for you square-toe folks, they released the Sawyer…same construction, same color ways, just in that square toe silhouette.
You in?
Not sure if I’m ready to get behind grey boots. Seeing it more and more and I’m open to grey leather in some shoes but idk if I’m ready for grey boots.
For me, I wouldn’t buy. I love cowboy boots but want ones made in America. There are amazing custom boot makers in Texas, which are great and some are $500 or less. To me that’s what I want for boots.
Commendable – but an unnecessary comment on a post meant to speak positively about a new product from a great boot company. They are made in the shoe/boot capital of the world – no it is not USA but it is of the highest quality. I should also listen to what I am about to type, but some things are better left unsaid
Sorry I misunderstood the purpose of the post. I thought asking “you in?” meant we were being asked if we would buy this product. Didn’t mean to denigrate anyone. Just was offering my opinion when asked. Apologies.
I love these boots. I would love to have a pair of each other. One pair of gunsmoke and one pair of scotch.
