Vintage Orvis Catalogs

Our friends at Orvis have been around for quite some time – since 1856…over 165 years.  Their story is very interesting.  At this point, they’ve transitioned to a full D2C business, with a ton of retail shops and a fantastic online presence, but before all that: they were a catalog company.  A very good catalog company.

Their catalogs featured some of the coolest artwork and imagery…so much so that framing these for an office or a lodge wouldn’t be too far outside the lines.  Enjoy the collection:

Their yearly catalog also allows one, like me, to have a matching catalog to the rod’s year of manufacture!
I got a 1968 catalog for my superfine bamboo rod, 1982 for my Seven/Four bamboo and 1984 for the Ultrafine. I’m still on the look out for a 1979 for my Tippet
