Jacksonville over Charleston? You are losing your mind.
Great photos – what area of Jacksonville/part of the St. Johns is that?
Those pictures look like my old neighborhood – Mandarin. I didn’t know you were from Jacksonville. I grew up in the Beauclerc Road area.
Beautiful pictures Jay! It’s a great reminder that I desperately need a vacation, some sea breeze and maybe even some sand in my hair.
Cheers!
Beautiful. My parents just bought a place in Amelia Island and I haven’t gotten down there yet. This just lit a fire under my ass.
I’m going to look past the fact that you were down here and didn’t tell Todd and me. Great pictures!
Great pictures — beautiful place down there.
Thanks for sharing.
We were just fishing off the point not too far from this dock 2 nights ago! Had no idea you were from down here!
Very nice. I’m from the Riverside/Avondale area myself.
Nice shots J.
Although have experienced them both I have to agree that Charleston (or any part of SC) woops any part of Florida.
When I first viewed these pix I was speechless. In the mid-50’s I was a young boy living in Jacksonville. Our next door neighbors owned a lot on the St. John’s River and our family would spend many weekends with them helping to build their dock and dockhouse. The memories of fishing, crabbing, shrimping and spotting manatees from the dock are some of the fondest of my life. You pictures capture exactly the scenes I remember so fondly. We moved away in 1958 before they built a house on the lot. Thank you so much for taking me back.
The view of those docks is even better on top of my little Whaler.
When I lived in DC and NYC and got homesick, it was always about not being able to hop on a boat to clear my mind.
Thanks for the pics, but don’t tell too many people how wonderful it is here. We don’t want it to get too crowded!
I just got back from TPC in jax, my first time down there. It was amazing. I completely agree, one of the finest places in the US of A!
Great pictures of Jacksonville along the St. Johns River! It looks like these pictures were taken somewhere off of San Jose Blvd. between Bolles and Baymeadows Ave.? Anyway, that’s where my parents live and is where I grew up…now in Houston, TX but am going “home” for Christmas tomorrow! Thank you for reminding me of how beautiful/amazing Jacksonville is…especially this time of the year when most of the country is cold with dead grass and leafless trees.
